I am so glad that I decided to book a private tour with Captain Ken! The weather didn’t look too promising the day we were scheduled to do the... read more tour, but he kept a watchful eye on the forecast and we decided to delay our start time to 12 Noon when the rain was predicted to leave the area. (His boat has covers so even if it were raining, we’d be able to take shelter, and he had contingency plans for lightning as well.). We had a ~5 hour tour of what seemed like all of the highlights of Rainy Lake, including lunch at Kettle Falls hotel (which itself has very interesting history). Captain Ken was very knowledgeable, and what I appreciated most was that he stopped off at a number of islands with unique history, allowing us to walk around and see the historic cabins, fishing operations, and gold mines on these various islands.

Great experience - Captain Ken was excellent. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be with. Highly recommend.

He slowed the boat several times on our return journey so we could see a bald eagle, an eagle’s nest and tell us the history behind a mine cave. Our children loved the journey as well. As a mom, I appreciated that he had appropriately sized, very nice youth life preservers instead of generic orange ones. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to use his services.
